End of residency exhibition Dana Blume & Oscar Pearson

Come and see the biggest canvas painting ever to grace the Five Cities area! Food and refreshments will be available.The public unveiling will occur at 2pm on Sunday, June 23rd at The Place on PCH, 1699 Front St. Oceano, CA. The actual painting process began June 1st and has continued all month.

It took 3 days to construct the stretcher bars and attatch the canvas. Screw guns, table saws and mitre boxes were the artists' initial tools. The final product measures 11 feet tall and 8 and a half feet wide.

Artists Oscar Pearson and Dana Blume have been studying at Cal State University at Long Beach. They are the 3rd and 4th particicipants in The Place's ongoing Artist in Resindency Program

Luce Raggi on Show / End of residency

Luce Raggi is ending her 2 months art residency at The Place on PCH. Come and join us May 3rd to celebrate her surprising point of view and body of work! Her work consists in a dialogue between different media, bringing a stamp that is vivid and recognizable across them all. From the mural on the front of our building, to all the paintings representing what she encountered in everyday Cali life, to her unique ceramic series.

Opening Show: Meet the Artist Daniel Brian Evans

On Saturday, March 23, from 4-6pm, Daniel Brian Evans will be at The Place on PCH for his opening show following his two-week residency here in Oceano. Evans is a professional studio potter from Louisville, Kentucky, with an MFA from Alfred University.
The show will consist of completely new work made onsite at The Place.

There will be functional pottery such as bowls, cups and jars.
